When you see an interesting looking plant, there is usually a sign in the ground, so you don't have to get into arguments with your spouse over what it is.

  • Seagrape trees abound.
  • There are hot tubs on either end of the main swimming pool, as well as one on the nude beach. Here is the garden hot tub, which is quite secluded and private... We never saw anyone in it.
  • When you see an interesting looking plant, there is usually a sign in the ground, so you don't have to get into arguments with your spouse over what it is.
  • Some enjoy the hammock on the beach, while others prefer this hammock in the garden. Then again, some couples enjoy both.
  • The walkways and decks throughout the resort are in outstanding condition... and this one was beautiful enough to warrant a picture.
  • No Diving, huh? To have such a sign would imply that swimming is ok. I'm not sure why anyone would want to venture into the koi pond, except perhaps to remind them of the beaches and lakes they have at home?
  • Banana plants grow all over the resort. They aren't just for show, either... a lot of the fruit served in the restaurants comes right from the garden... talk about fresh!
  • Here is the Grill, as seen from the ground floor of building one.
  • The beach is simply spectacular!
  • The path from the center of building one to the grill and the pool.
  • Now there's a fruit that you don't see growing in the United States... can you name it?
  • It's Sour Sap! Building one is seen in the background.
  • Bread Fruit and creamy butter... one of Hilliary's favorites!
  • Beauty can be found everywhere at Couples Negril, not just by the ocean...
  • You can play table tennis in the game room, or if you prefer, out on the pool deck. Good luck finding your ball if it goes into the plants. The doors in the background are to the Otaheite Restaurant (a little too fancy for Jonathan's taste).
  • Tables and chairs, with umbrellas, offer a break from the blazing sun. To the right is the Heliconia Grill.
  • Being Jamaica in May, we were expecting to see countless bugs flying around, especially at mealtime. Well, interestingly enough, we saw more birds than we did flies... such as this fellow.
  • They are sneaky... they don't bother you while you're eating, but the moment you leave the table, they'll swoop in and help themselves. Even the birds know how good the food is.
  • The beach bar, our favorite place to get Dirty Bananas (think of it as a banana milkshake, laced with rum). It's right opposite the grill... Hilliary gets the drinks, Jonathan gets the food.
  • Those bananas hanging over the bar were picked fresh from the gardens of the resort. We thought of them as a countdown timer: They were put up the first day we were there, we watched them ripen, and get used off, until finally, on our last morning, they were all gone. Jonathan helped that happen with all of the Dirty Bananas he drank!
